JO OLNEY:
My work is mainly using the medium of photography and focuses on my perspective of those that work and live around me, and those that influence and inspire me in my daily life. By using a camera I aim to capture a moment of honesty and realism in an individual that can often escape a viewer when only a fleeting glance is shared. I draw my inspirations from photographers such as Nan Goldin, Sally Mann and Corrinne day who like me aim to share a sometimes shockingly blunt view of life. But with views as blunt as this comes moments of pure emotional and natural beauty. I enjoy focussing on the simple thing in life such as drinking a cup of tea with friends or playing football in the park, by focussing on this idea of moments of honesty captured, I believe my photographs portray images of joy, wonder, pain, boredom and desire.
